Nightingale Park
Queens Road, Winchester
A development of nine flats and five houses regenerates the former redundant Ambulance Station site at Queens Road, Winchester. The scheme is conceived in three parts; a double fronted block, set behind protected trees to Romsey Road, which is divided into three ‘pavilions’ connected by glazed staircase cores. Three houses addressing the Queens Road frontage, respecting its scale and character. Two ‘courtyard’ houses in the south-west corner of the site which respond to the constraints of the topography and surrounding neighbours. The project was shortlisted for The City of Winchester Trust Design Awards in 2015.
