We are delighted that our Symonds Close affordable housing scheme has been shortlisted by the Hampshire Branch of the Campaign to Protect Rural England in the “Making Places – Buildings & Landscape” category, which recognises sustainable development in a rural or urban area. Entries will be judged by The Hastoe Group, visits will take place throughout the summer and winners will be chosen and revealed at The Countryside Awards ceremony in September.
Alresford Road, Winchester - Planning Permission
We are delighted that planning permission has been granted, at committee with unanimous approval, for two new dwellings on a corner plot on Alresford Road, Winchester. The project also includes a major modernisation of and extension to the existing house.
Casita - Planning Permission
Winchester city council have granted planning permission, under delegated powers, for our scheme of four contemporary houses on Wellhouse Lane in Headbourne Worthy. The development will replace a single dwelling and comprises two detached houses either side of a pair of semi-detached houses. The site is incredibly challenging in that it is north facing and slopes very steeply down from the road. It enjoys fabulous view over open countryside. The design is restrained and low rise from the lane, in keeping with the semi-rural character. The south facing roofs to the front contain large amounts of glazing which pull sunlight down through double height gallery spaces to the lower floors. The striking rear elevations are four storeys featuring a stone ‘plinth’ lower storey with charred timber cladding and zinc roofs above.
Greenacres - Planning Permission
We are delighted to have achieved planning permission for a 400sq.m new build house in Hensting Lane, Fishers Pond. The offset doubled gabled design is simple and traditional in form whilst modern in appearance and composition. A glazed atrium links the two wings which incorporates the entrance hall and staircase. The design and detailing is contemporary, with a black zinc roof and upper floor walls, coupled with a white rendered and stone clad base.
Orient Drive - Planning Permission
Our scheme for a highly contemporary new build house in the Harestock area of Winchester has been granted planning permission at committee, with unanimous approval. The predominantly single storey courtyard house, is L-shaped in plan enclosing a walled garden. Car parking is tucked beneath an integrated car port with only the master suite set at first floor, behind a perforated metal screen. The overall design and aesthetic is very simple and discrete with just two contrasting external materials – pale brick and dark zinc.
