The project comprises two phases, utilising both the existing house and its garden. Located on a corner plot the existing dwelling has been altered and extended and two new-build semi-detached houses have been built in the garden.

A two storey extension has been added to the front of the existing dwelling, together with alterations to the roof. Two new single storey extensions form a new entrance porch and open up the kitchen and living space to the rear. The existing house is finished externally with white painted brick and timber elements, creating a contemporary feature for the prominent corner where Alresford Road and Winnall Manor Road meet.

The new-build houses on the rear plot have been carefully designed to ensure the neighbouring properties are not overlooked. These houses were built using off-site SIPS construction from local supplier Bespoke Modular Developments. This resulted in an impressively quick construction programme with the houses being complete within 12 months of obtaining planning approval. This element of the scheme is simple in form, using red brick to relate to the character of Winnall Manor Road. Off road car parking is contained within contemporary timber structures.
